Do you live in the Gumeracha area ?
Are you over the age of 16 ? (If not, then become a cadet)
Do you like the idea of belonging to an organisation that stretches across the entire state of South Australia ?
Do you want to get pride and respect in being involved in an exciting, sophisticated and professional community service organisation ?
Do you want to gain personal development and leadership skills by training and responding to emergencies ?
Do you want your very own pair of bright yellow overalls ?
Regardless of which role(s) you wish to undertake you will be supported all the way. We will provide you with full training by experienced and qualified trainers which will enable you to perform to the best of your ability in the many roles available such as:
radio operation;
equipment maintenance;
cadet training;
administration support;
hazard reduction;
advice to property owners;
risk and response planning;
operations support;
incident management team functions;
firefighting emergency and accident rescue;
accounting and records management;
fund raising;
catering;
school presentations;
media interviews;
promotion; and
competitions.
The CFS, being a community-based organisation is built on volunteers and respects your family and work commitments. The CFS also forms a partnership between you as a volunteer, your family, employer and local government. CFS members gain confidence, practical and leadership skills and have the pride and respect which comes from being involved with a community service organisation.
